Pebbles for Water Features and Fountains
Water deepens colour and sharpens texture. Choose stone for how it looks wet, not dry.

Judge the stone wet
Every stone looks different submerged. Before committing to a large order, wet a sample and look at it in the light the feature will actually sit in.
Size and movement
20–50 mm is the working range inside a water body. Smaller stone travels towards the pump; larger stone leaves visible gaps in shallow water. Screen the pump intake regardless.
Keeping it clean
Rinse stone thoroughly before it goes in, or the first fill will run cloudy. Expect to lift and rinse the top layer periodically as algae builds up, particularly in outdoor features in partial shade.
