Before you order
- Size band in millimetres, not a trade name
- Finish: natural, tumbled or polished
- Quantity basis: tonnes, cubic metres or bags
- Packing format and pack weight
- Whether material is washed
- Freight cost and who arranges the vehicle
- Vehicle size the site can actually receive
- Offloading arrangement and equipment at site
- Phasing dates if the order is split
Match batches early
If the project runs in phases and the stone must match, order the full colour requirement together and store it. Matching a natural stone batch months later is not reliable.
Site access decides a lot
The largest cost surprise on bulk stone is usually access — a consignment that cannot reach the working area needs double handling. Confirm approach width and turning space when you enquire.
