Natural vs Polished Pebbles: Which Should You Choose?

What the two finishes actually are
Natural pebbles are cleaned and graded but not surface-treated; the matte finish is what water erosion left behind. Polished pebbles are tumbled with abrasive media until the surface closes, which deepens the colour and adds a light sheen.
Where each one wins
Polished stone belongs where it is seen closely and cleaned regularly: lobbies, indoor planters, water features, hotel arrival courts. Natural stone belongs across large outdoor areas, where the gloss would be invisible anyway and the matte surface hides dust.

Cost and maintenance
Polishing adds a processing step, so polished material is generally quoted higher per unit than the same stone unpolished. It also needs more frequent rinsing to keep the sheen visible in dusty outdoor conditions.
