Application guide
Pebbles for Water Filtration
Filtration is an engineering application, not a decorative one. The stone is specified by grading, cleanliness and hardness, and the layer schedule comes from the plant designer rather than from preference.
What we can do is supply against that schedule. Send the layer sizes and depths and we will confirm what is available in washed material for your destination.

Recommended sizes
Layered from about 2–5 mm at the top through to 40–65 mm at the support layer.
Recommended finish
Washed natural, low silt content.
Colour selection
Not a factor — specify by grading and cleanliness instead.
Quantity considerations
Calculated per layer: filter bed area × layer depth.

Installation tips
- 1Place coarse support layers first, then progressively finer grades.
- 2Level each layer before adding the next.
- 3Backwash to settle the bed before commissioning.
Maintenance
- Follow the backwash cycle specified for your plant.
- Check layer depths at each scheduled maintenance.
