Choosing Pebble Colours for Exterior Design

Contrast, do not match
Stone chosen to match the paving closely disappears and flattens the composition. Either commit to contrast or go clearly darker or lighter within the same family.
Two colours maximum
Use one colour across the majority of the area and a second as a deliberate band or border. Three or more colours in one garden reads as indecision rather than design.
Test in your own light
Stone colour shifts noticeably between showroom lighting, overcast daylight and hard midday sun. Look at a wet and dry sample on site before ordering volume.
